Maurice

After reading the book I figured that a rewatch was needed. The movie follows the book very well and the dialogue is very close to it at least in the beginning. I do think that this movie makes hating Clive much harder because he is beautiful but also because in the book we really see how Clive essentially manipulated Maurice into having all of his ideals and what not only to drop him. I do think that this movie does a better job at illustrating how Clive is only in the closet rather than in the book. In the book it just says something about how he’s straight now and what not it could be the fact it was written in 1913 but the movie shows it much better. The closing of the window, the closing on Maurice. Clive Durham really will go through life half awake. I really love this movie and I really love Alec ❤️
