Trainspotting

Soundtrack is beyond peak. Born Slippy needledrop 🙏🙏🙏🙏 Trainspotting is a film about how miserable everyday life is and how everyone finds their own addiction their own escape to rid of that feeling it’s a gross and gritty film told through a comedic lens one that criticizes everything and is full of flawed characters and amazing songs. The imagery throughout this film is spectacular and really illustrates the other realities that drugs can put a person in. It’s fast paced and doesn’t spend too much time on itself just like life. The character of Tommy is really messed up. He’s there to fully show what drugs will do to someone we see him in the beginning a well adjusted, honest, strong person who has a girlfriend and a life ahead of him but once turning to drugs it all goes downhill. We all know that Renton, and spud, and Sickboy were once like Tommy but we only see the aftermath not the process like what we do with Tommy and then to see this addiction take his life is just devastating. I definitely didn’t understand this movie as well on my first watch especially with a lot of the imagery that’s shown throughout, specifically the scene where Renton is going cold Turkey. This movie is gross with an absolutely rancid aura but it has to be, it has to be unappealing.
