One of those cinema experiences I'll cherish for the rest of my life. There is so much to love about this film. Wether it is the fantastic animation, the flawless script, which delivers personal stories for each character without needing any dialogue, the beautiful cinematography, the soundtrack or the fantastic themes of teamwork, acceptance, hope, identity or the idea that it's the family we create that often matters more than the one we were born into. And the fact that all characters manage to have personal character arcs, that work perfectly towards similar themes WITHOUT DIALOGUE is fantastic. There is also aspects talking about climate change, like the absence of humans, the flooding and possibly also the whale seemingly being a mutated creature. The fact that such a small team managed to create something as grand and spectacular is astonishing Gints Zilbalodis and his crew cooked. It's movies like these that get used as milestones in the world of animation and quite possibly cinema in general. Best Movie of 2024
