when I first heard about this movie I thought it would be the most gutwrenching/saddest movie ever (i was correct). But since I was aware of that information I spent the whole movie trying to find when the "sad" bit was going to happen for example the dad dying or something extremely tragic and i was extremely confused since I was only really focusing on the memories and didnt actually deeply think about what was happening.
But after litearlly spending around 5 minutes thinking about what I had watched it finally clicked. Then I had the wonderful experience of shedding an unholy amount of tears.
This movie is fucking amazing and definitely deserves an oscar, the amount of thought and detail put into it is incredible. As someone who's biological dad I have not seen in around 4-5 years I had a insanely similar relationship which did give me crazy memories and thoughts about how he must of felt back then, which is now giving me mad guilt.
This movie is fucking awesome I definitely will rewatch it very very soon, it may take some time to understand though.
