The Deer Hunter

Two years on from my first watch and it’s even more devastating the second time around Watching the first hour and understanding what happens to each character by the end is just another level of depressing - the absolute pinnacle of sadness - John Cazale is so underrated and unappreciated which is something I’d like to be changed immediately please I’m comfortable now in saying that the Cavatina theme might be my favourite piece of film score ever - even listening to it on its own makes me feel like crying I could write paragraphs on how much I love this film and how it makes me feel but my opinion is not going to match up to experiencing it yourself
