Sinners

Cinema is well and truly back!! I honestly struggled to put into words how much I love this film, there’s so much to say and unpack. The entire cast were incredible jack o’connell irish dancing, Michael b Jordan as stack and smoke were both so distinguishable that at the beginning I forgot that it was him playing both characters, this film being miles caton’s debut role is such an achievement and his voice wow, and don’t even get me started on the women in sinners now they DEVOURED. The romantic relationships between the characters stack x mary, smoke x annie, bo x grace were so interesting and beautiful and all so different in their love styles and not only the romantic relationships but the brotherly bonds between stack and smoke. Now the music wowwww this truly captured the cultural significance music can have I’m currently obsessed with rocky road to dublin. There’s 4 scenes that really stood out to me 1. The juke joint dance scene this gave me goosebumps music is truly our connection to the past and future 2. Mary and stack you know the one 3. Irish jig remmick had all these vamps bopping along to an irish folk song 4. Smoke taking out the klan and reuniting with Annie and his daughter. Something I find interesting is even without the vampires, there would have been death awaiting by the hands of the klan in the morning. I love love loved this film thank you to Ryan Coogler🫶🏽 “ last time i seen the sun, last time i seen my brother”
