I’m obsessed with the UK’s decision in the early 2000s to film stuff in this 480 YouTube quality (Skins, early Doctor Who). In this case, it adds to the atmosphere, as if I’m watching the terror unfold through a found footage film or a news reel. Makes everything feel a bit more unnerving. Particularly the scene where Cillian encounters the people in the church. Silent, grainy footage. Yeah, now that’s horror.
