La Chimera

“you’re not made for human eyes.” i love everything about this film so much—the cinematography, the screenplay, the symbolism of the red string, arthur’s obsession with his lost love and how that parallels to his friends obsessions with grave robbing (digging up the past). movies that allow you to analyze and look deeper into the details of it are my kind of movie, and la chimera is def one of them. the ending is bittersweet but one of my favorites as it just shows that despite how bad arthur wished to let go of the past, he simply couldn’t—hence why he left italia and the commune, and when he goes back to grave robbing, it only leads him to death. in other words, he is reunited with his one true love. watching this film for the first time was truly a life changing experience ily josh o’connor
