Breakfast on Pluto
My Experience of This Movie: An Introduction
wow this movie was rlly brilliant! cillian murphy’s range is actually insane. this movie was so tragic and yet so uplifting its not about trans misery no, its about the trials and tribulations of just existing! i was engaged from the beginning and just wanted kitten to experience joy and happiness in the city that swallowed her mum. i smiled at her propensity to befriend anyone and even briefly enjoyed the magician arc (before he took advantage of her), i got upset when the men around her hurt her both emotionally and physically. this wasnt just a journey to find her mum but to find her identity as a trans queer woman in a city(ies) that refute it. shes so uplifting despite it all. i also loved liam neeson in it, hes always playing a troubled father and i love it.
this kind of felt like an amalgamation of the tracy beaker movie and meet the robinsons except its gay and irish (hence why no surprise its quickly becoming one of my favourite movies!)
