you know, I never really thought this would really get me. (this is a mess, because I'm a mess and also can't write reviews, but idk, I wanted to write something about how I felt) I am Uruguayan, it's a really small country in south america, with little to no cinematic representation (we literally treasure that episode of the simpsons where homer mispronounces our name) nor an industry here to do films. I know it's impossible for me to work on what I love here, nobody cares about my movies, but, just look at this movie, a celebration to Mexico, a country at the other side of the continent, with an incredibly different culture to mine, and yet, one that hit so close to home. I crave more Latinx representation, from any country, seeing latinxs win awards, get nominations, making media, living their moment fills me with so much joy, and so much determination. And I feel like I can get there too. Capaz que yo también puedo llegar a vivir mi momento, y a alguien, aunque sea una sola persona, le va a producir este mismo sentimiento.
