I have to say, for a show with only 8 episodes, any pacing issues barely matter because the performances and storytelling are just that good…finally, here’s a comic book adaptation that doesn’t try to make its villain some misunderstood anti-hero you end up rooting for. With the Penguin, just when you think you can understand his motives or feel even a bit of sympathy, the show hits you with a reality check: "he’s a godamn lunatic", exactly the kind of dark, twisted villain Gotham deserves. And wow, that finale! Not only did it wrap everything up perfectly, but it also went above and beyond. Despite being just 8 episodes, they managed to flesh out every tiny detail with a passion and depth that shines through in every scene.
