Alison Brie and Dave Franco aren't just the stars of the film but a real married couple who put their own money into "Together" ,stayed deeply involved in its creative production, and championed its theatrical release which makes the whole thing feel even more insane. It blows my mind that something this grotesque and unsettling came out of their partnership, and the fact they pulled it off in just 21days of shooting adds to the raw-unfiltered energy the film carried, it's suffocating, twisted and invasive, the kind that distort flesh&bones, trapping you inside your own body. Yet amid this nightmare fuel, their real chemistry bleeds through feeling authentic and true to both the emotions and the genre even when the horror is at its most revolting. With their weird unnerving intimacy underneath they’re not just enduring the madness but feeding off the shared descent...by the end, they literally match each other’s freak and it doesn’t just feel like the best horror you'll see in years, but equally strange and romantic too...wild and fucked up enough that you’d feel guilty recommending it to anyone.
