There Will Be Blood

Daniel Day-Lewis is amazing — there’s no doubt about it, performances like this are rarely seen. But for me, Paul Dano really stood out. He’s just as strong as DDL, but doesn’t get mentioned as much when people talk about the film.
I was a bit unsure throughout the film, but the final 15 minutes convinced me of everything. It's easily one of the best acting scenes I’ve ever seen and really made the film work for me.
The rest of the film didn’t fully grab me. While the Daniel and his son storyline was great, there wasn’t much else that really grabbed me. That’s why I think it’s a bit too much to call it one of the greatest films ever.
Still, the acting, the tension, and the interactions between Daniel and Paul throughout the film really make the film stronger. Their dynamic throughout the film, is a big part of why this movie works well for me.
