A love letter to anyone who grew up in the dawn of Facebook/MySpace, trying to manage life while also learning the new horrors of social media.
This is a a film for the one who is left behind. The afterthought friend. The one who has people to hang out with, but no friends. The one who somehow always feels alone, even surrounded by the company of others. The one who compares themself to everyone else, wondering why they can’t just be like them.
The one who constantly wonders “Do my parents think I’m a disappointment?”. The person who seems to think they can’t do anything correctly. The awkward one. The nervous one. The one who lacks a shoulder to lean on, but so desperately wants one. The one who just wants to fit in.
So grateful this film exists. The second film of my “i had to go really out of my way to watch this” double feature, also a huge success. A day like today is a good reminder why I love cinema.
