Arrival
The dark color palette gives the entire movie such a unique atmosphere. Every frame feels cold, quiet, and mysterious, making it impossible not to get pulled into its world.
Visually, this is one of the most impressive films i've seen. The scale of everything, the cinematography, and the scenery make it feel like a true cinematic experience. It would honestly feel wasted watching it on a phone.
Knowing Denis Villeneuve directed it, the level of quality wasn't surprising. Everything feels so carefully crafted, from the visuals to the pacing.
I also loved how different it is. It bends your mind just enough to keep you questioning everything without ever feeling like it's trying too hard to be clever.
One tiny detail i absolutely loved was using the same song at both the beginning and the end. It gives the entire story a beautiful sense of completion once you understand what you've just experienced.
"I forgot how good it felt to be held by you."
That single line with the context was enough to push this from a 4½ to a full 5 stars. After everything the film had built up, it hit me harder than i expected.
One of the most beautiful and emotionally intelligent sci-fi films Ive ever watched.
