Demolition
Jake Gyllenhaal... I genuinely can't stop glazing his performances, but it's deserved every single time.
Davis is one of those characters you never get tired of watching because you never know what he's going to do next. After his wife's death, he almost seems completely detached from it, which at first made it feel like he didn't even care. But the more the movie goes on, the more you realize that this is how he's dealing with his grief. Everyone processes loss differently, and his way is through tearing everything apart.
That's why Demolition might honestly be the perfect title. He's dismantling the life he built, piece by piece, trying to understand what actually mattered to him.
It's heartbreaking to watch him slowly realize that he never truly appreciated his wife while she was still there, and that realization eats away at him more than the loss itself.
"I was just venting. I didn't expect anybody to read them."
"Your letters made me cry, Mr. Mitchell."
damn...
