Enemy
Enemy is one of those movies that feels weird from the very first second. Everything is just off. Even before anything actually happens, theres this constant feeling that something isnt right.
One thing I loved was the lack of music for a big part of the movie. It makes everything feel so much more unsettling. Then, when the score does kick in later on, it almost feels like someones standing right behind you. Its incredibly effective.
Jake Gyllenhaal absolutely carries this movie. Its crazy how convincing he is playing two characters that look identical but still feel like completely different people. The scenes with both of them together are so smoothly filmed that you almost forget its one actor.
The spider imagery is everywhere, and even though I dont fully understand all of it, it sticks with you the entire time. Its one of those movies where every little detail feels intentional.
What really got me, though, is the idea of meeting an exact copy of yourself. I dont think people realize how genuinely terrifying that would be. Its such a simple concept, but the movie turns it into pure psychological horror.
I also kept wondering if there were ever actually two people. Maybe its all one person, and the double is just another side of him. I don't know if thats the "correct" interpretation, but I love that the movie leaves you questioning everything instead of spelling it out.
