The Lighthouse
Yo I don’t even know why— but this film is by certainty, by every single means THE number one history making classic to the year 2019. I know it’s early calling this one a masterpiece, but this movie is SO DAMNED GOOD. I rewatched it, and I’m not even gonna hold myself cause as of now, I honestly think this the one of most expansive, multi genre psychological thrillers ever made. There have been many good movies that came out in 2019 but (in my opinion) as far as independent and original creativity goes, nothing is close. Parasite is pretty close in quality and in some ways an equal to greater movie by most ideal standards— but, for atmosphere and world building, The Lighthouse is the 21st Century’s untouched mastercraft from Mars. The academy can go kiss a pufferfish!
