celine song did it again, love how it digged into stuff like love, control, and self worth without being cheesy about it, the whole thing with lucy stuck between the guy who can give her everything and the one who actually loves her felt grounded, it had humor but it didn’t undercut the emotions, the characters felt real, layered, and actually written with care.
visually it’s really nice, subtle and easy on the eyes with calm cinematography and clean editing, nothing flashy but it works, the pacing is just right too, never felt dragged or rushed, and the sound had this soft, almost asmr vibe at times that pulled me in, the cast clicked well, the chemistry felt natural which made the whole thing flow even more.
what i liked most is how it doesn’t try too hard to please everyone, it’s a bit slow, yeah, but it’s human and kind of bold in how it looks at modern dating without sugarcoating, it’s thoughtful, warm, and has that quiet confidence that sticks with you after it ends, i’m glad i watched it without letting other reviews color it, feels like a little gem.
