Arrival
I really like the nonlinear storytelling here, it feels surreal and not fully explained. Really great for giving us our own interpretation of what Loise is experiencing. There’s so much unsaid connection between Ian and loise, I really enjoy the puzzle aspect of this film.
Villeneuve’s visual style feels very apparent here, it’s the first movie of his to deal with the more sci fi themes, and his cinematography really mirrors that. I think he perfects this style in 2049 and dune quite a lot better.
Very beautiful movie I love it.
