Before Sunrise
There is beauty in spending that time not as yourself but living your life from the outside, when circumstances make your life feel like something you’re meant to savor and look back on for the rest of your life. I like how they come from completely different philosophies, and how they can bond from their differences. The impermanence of what they are experiencing is so special and that’s why I don’t think this is as corny as it might seem to be.
I wonder if this movie would have been as beloved if it had been set somewhere not known for its atmosphere or look. I’d love to see the same story from a small town where there really isn’t much to do or look at. Nothing to carry the conversation along. Would that be better evidence of a good connection?
It’s really stupid because this does feel like the movie I’d call overrated. Damn.
