Lady Bird
This movie really is the perfect interpretation of how being young actually is, it isn’t being glorified or a caricature of the hardships of high school, I think it’s just so personal and incredibly down to earth to what I’ve experienced.
I think I saw this movie at the right time, I feel like I’ve lived so much of it, for a lot of my life talking to my parents felt exactly like how she talks to her mom, and how her dad treats her is exactly what I wanted to be treated like. I think having the perspective of my parents having changed how they treat me so significantly, it really gives the movie the weight that it has. All of the side characters including the antagonist ones all felt like people I’ve met before in both a good and infuriating way.
This movie was shot so beautifully, the opening shots of the houses were by far one of the most beautiful movie shots I’ve ever seen, and the camera really captured a lot of what I appreciate and look for in photography
This movie is like every good part of licorice pizza.
