I’m attracted to the loneliness of this of this film, I don’t relate to Travis, or what kind of decisions he makes, but I don’t think he’s a bad person. I’d like to think he comes back for Jane and hunter.
The scene where Travis and Jane talk for the second time is one of my favorite scenes in movies, I love how cramped the space feels, and I love how they still feel so isolated. Neither of them are good people, and neither of them have made good decisions for themselves or the people they care about. I think they were both afraid of what they would say to each other, and the glacé seemed to make them feel safe enough to share what they needed to. You can tell they still loved one another.
There is not a single shot in this movie taken for granted, from beginning to end I couldn’t see a single frame I didn’t like, the color palate was so distinct and totally ahead of its time. I would have loved to live in the time where lights weren’t sterile, and cars still had color to them.
