Prisoners
This movie perfectly represented the grief and despair of a parent who lost their child, Hugh Hackman being both bloodthirsty for justice but reluctance to actually look for clues. Stuck on an idea he had which ended up going nowhere, he kept pressing on to a dead end. even dehumanizing the character, he was turning out worse than who he wanted the information from.
The detective really felt competent and like he was just an inch away from finding out everything. It felt right that he uncovered it by chance.
The aunt was so chilling, she was so cold the whole time, and you would have no idea how sick she seemed to be until you really look back on it and it totally makes sense that she is who she is.
The cinematography in this movie is actually amazing, The shot where he is racing to the hospital with the red light shining through the rainy windshield was by far one of the greatest shots I’ve seen in cinema.
