Sentimental Value
Stuck on this or OBAA as my movie of the year.
The only other Joachim Trier movie I have seen is The Worst Person in the World which kinda left me in the same overall feeling after watching as this did, a feeling that life does get better.
Of course Renate Reinsve was fantastic from start to finish, but for me Stellan Skarsgard had probably the best acting of the year (although I do think Ethan Hawke in Blue Moon is also a top contender for me). Especially in the birthday party scene.
