Dune: Part Two
Biggest bestest sci-fi movie ever. wowee the visuals were spectacular. like nothing i had ever seen before. it felt like the culmination of all movie making technology to date. every advancement lead to this movie and it’s stunning look.
and the story is just impeccable. it honestly improved on the book in some ways. it also doubled down on the religious components which i loved. the writers diverged in fairly significant ways from the source material, but each time they did it ultimately served to bring the spirit of Herbert’s novel to life.
And Chalamet’s portrayal of Paul has massively improved since the original film. He’s much more conflicted, yet narcissistic. much more burdened, yet nonchalant. i love love love it. specifically in the third act he did a great job resolving his character arc. i actually prefer the version of Paul we get at the end of this movie than the one at the end of the novel. He’s got a more fiery temper, befitting a nefarious religious figure
I’m literally the lisan al-gaib he is literally me guys i’m mua’dib duke of Arrakis the one who points the way
