Interstellar
Now to start, I put this film off for years. All the praise and hype around it almost pushed me away, which is crazy to say now. I genuinely want to apologise to everyone, and to myself, for not watching this sooner. This is a holy grail level masterpiece. Watching it left me stunned, emotionally drained, and full of awe in a way few films have ever managed.
I am not holding back when I say this is the greatest science fiction film since 2001: A Space Odyssey. There is great sci-fi out there, but these two films sit in a different lane. They blend hard science with raw human emotion in a way that feels rare, especially at this scale. The ambition of this is massive, but what really hits is the emotional weight. I have never teared up and cried this much at a film. It completely broke me. With a few more rewatches, I can honestly see this landing in my top four of all time, which says everything about the state it left me in.
Hans Zimmer’s score is nothing short of iconic, even on a first watch. As for the performances, I could not single out a weak one. Matthew McConaughey is unreal here. How he did not win an Oscar, or even get nominated, is beyond me. This film is POWERFUL, EMOTIONAL, and UNFORGETTABLE . I will be thinking about this for a very long time and I honestly mean that.
