Oldboy
I honestly don't even know what to write. For a film thats so well known, I am shocked that Oldboy was as disturbing and horrifying as it is. I've never been left so bewildered after watching a film. How does a human being even come up with such a complicated and deranged story? Of course I'm glad someone did because the film is fantastic but wtf?? Those who love thrilling or mind-fuck movies full of shock value, Oldboy has to be the first on the watchlist.
The story of a man who not only seeks the death of his enemies, but absolute torture and havoc, results in the unraveling of the most fucked up and wild fucking story I've ever witnessed.
Performances were fantastic, violence sequences were appalling yet so well done, and the plot twist that occurs will absolutely blow your mind in so many ways. The film is also full of quotes that are incredibly philosophical and thought-provoking. Oldboy is the opposite of forgettable, whether you enjoy it or not.
