Parasite

I try to stay away from Twitter or x, whatever you wanna call it as much as possible but I did stumble upon a tweet about parasite, I am slightly paraphrasing here but it was along the lines of “ I’m just waiting for people to actually like real foreign films not just the big ones like parasite” something like that but it’s so good & big that it hasn’t even been a decade & it’s already considered overrated!crazy. I saw this in IMAX for re release, took a couple friends who would be considered “normies” when it comes to the world that is cinema though they had of heard of the film before, they’re all incredibly hard sells when it comes to English speaking films so Imagine the struggle of me tryna explain this movie to them. I believe one them said and I quote “ oh so it’s Korean” safe to say we all had a great time and I myself think this is just even better on a rewatch somehow, just completely blown away and I surprisingly think it’s such a crowd pleaser until it goes completely fucked up but I genuinely think anyone could see this, you don’t need to be film literate or think your gonna get distracted by the subtitles, none of that it’s just so accessible wether you like films or not, it literally has everything! It feels like 7 bongs directed this movie, it’s insane! It truly is a special film on every aspect, really does hit home, anybody that has ever spent beyond their means or a second daydreaming about a life that could be you.. well it ain’t you, don’t get it twisted lol, not to say we’re all worthless or poor but I just love the fact they just get too comfortable in a situation and you as the viewer as well getting to comfortable with it that when it all comes crashing down it just becomes painful to watch, these people get dragged off that pedestal and what happens to their actual home, you really feel it! Bravo
