Spider-Man 2

To catch this on the big screen, amazing! A film of my childhood and it probably is the best superhero movie I’ve seen, it’s pretty much marvels dark knight! Although I like both spiderman films , I think this one goes beyond its predecessor in every way! The superhero story is richer and deeper, real hardships are explored, internal struggle of Peter Parker’s whole arc dealing with poverty & loss! These are themes that the MCU are too scared to explore or haven’t explored of late, too focused on larger scale universe and can’t focus on the more grounded things. So many elements play a part that I think make this film really great, themes you don’t see in the current landscape of superhero films. Things like life’s consequences, letting people down and love are key in this film, it’s a huge on the idea of choice! Being who you really are and choosing to become a hero, cause heroes in everyday society is represented in hope & symbolisms! The most touching and best scene of the movie, on the train just shows how much spider man is cherished! The film is like so dense with subplots and very good characters who move with the story as the film explores all those themes above! Every one did a great job performance wise as well like I can’t fault it there. I think also to view these as Sam Rami films instead of just “spider man” films helps, he’s got just such a tight grip on things here and he just knows what the audience wants, mainly just having fun as well, he just gives you so much to chew on! Superhero mastery! Bravo
