Moon Knight
“Rise and live again. As my fist of vengeance. As my Moon Knight!”
Everything great and everything terrible about the MCU Disney+ shows is all present here.
A really interesting concept and character which thrives when exploring its characters but gets bogged down by the need to be a big superhero blockbuster all the time. And this is one of the better shows.
Like I said, Moon Knight is at its best when exploring the psychology of its two leads, Marc and Steven, as well as diving into Egyptian mythology and using an unreliable narrator to make the viewers question whether what we see is real or fake. And in those aspects the show shines but it’s greatly overshadowed by the big end of the world plot all of these shows (except She-Hulk, Daredevil and Wonder Man) seem to have.
However, that’s not to say I don’t love this show. It’s a crime that Moon Knight’s future in the MCU is uncertain and Layla is such a cool character added to the mythos in this series. There are many of the D+ shows that deserve a season 2 and this is definitely one of the top ones.
