Kill Bill: Vol. 2
This duology is unbelievable. Two action packed, fast paced, intense, and very entertaining movies. In my opinion the first one is better but only by margins, I feel like the action is much more entertaining, the plot is straightforward in terms of the narrative, and the fighting in Japan is some fo the most entertaining action fuelled cinema I've seen.
Regarding this film, it's still very good, almost on par with Vol. 1. However, there isn't as much action compared to what I expected going into this. The handling of Budd was really disappointing, seeing him a washed up alcoholic who is practically broke and lives in a trailer would've been a good setup for a sort of redemption/revival encounter with Beatrix. Maybe a sword fight, fist-fight, or even at the least a shootout. But no, simple one shot at Beatrix, bury her alive, and then get killed by a black mamba from theost annoying character in the duology. (Thank god she got her eye ripped out). But yeah, the action was still entertaining, incomparable to the first one though.
The ending raised some questions as I don't believe that B.B is actually her daughter, and the final interactions with Bill were underwhelming to my expectations. That doesn't mean this was bad in any way at all.
The score was great, acting was very solid, the training sequence with Pai Mei was my favourite part and I'm just glad Beatrix didn't die in the end.
Uma Thurman is so cool.
