Godzilla
An objectively perfect movie that will unfortunately always stay relevant.
For how outlandish and mythologized the premise of this movie became since its release, it has some of the most heartbreaking and tragic portrayals of mourning, grief and terror during tragedy I’ve ever seen in media. The fourth wall breaking segments only remind us how we are spectators on these people’s pain. We cannot fix it. We cannot save them. All we can do is watch as their worlds burns around them. And though the circumstances feel world ending and impossible to escape from when watching, the perseverance shown by each character to survive despite the odds is nothing short of incredible. I cannot find a single flaw in this film even if I tried.
