The Curse
wasn't sold in the beginning but i felt like i couldn't look away. as it progressed, i realized more and more what it was trying to do and how successfully it was doing it. in the end i was completely enthralled and glued to my tv screen, unblinking as the finale played out.
i don't watch a ton of tv, but this feels different from anything else i've seen. the way it tackles the underlying nature of who we pretend to be, not only to others but to ourselves. the way it deals with wrestling with the cognitive dissonance of trying to be a good person. ultimately, the lengths we go to lie to ourselves and deal with existential dread.
