Lady Bird
watched this with my ex for the first time in theatres when it came out. i barely paid any attention to it because i was a teenager in love with an over-controlling mother, it was past my curfew, and it was one of the rare nights i didn't care enough about my mother's anger issues & decided to spend the evening out and about with my ex-boyfriend. i resolved to watch the movie again but had never got around to because i felt like i had to be emotionally prepared to give it my full attention. needless to say, it hit home on multiple aspects, from the urge to outgrow your roots as soon as possible to having a mother figure who's unable to express her feelings in any remotely positive terms. i'm ready to be utterly destroyed by Barbie (2023)
