Alien
This movie is definitely being added to my top 10 reasons why I’m never going to space.
Ripley and Parker were both amazing, from the start to the end. It felt as if you were meant to dislike Ripley, but I thought her response at the beginning was completely valid, because if I found out we weren’t meant to be on this planet, and then they come back and say some weird things attacked Kane, which has attached itself to him, I too wouldn’t let them back in.
I just really liked Parker because he was funny, and quite logical at times, freezing him would’ve been a great idea to be honest.
There was one jumpscare that really got me, it was the one where Dallas was in the shaft and the alien came from behind him, that genuinely scared the hell out of me.
I loved how Jonesy survived, I really thought the wouldn’t, especially with how Ripley was throwing him around in that cat character.
The absolute shock on my face when the Alien was with Ripley, in the escape pod, that was a brilliant idea from the creators, it created a false sense of security, when you thought Ripley was going to survive, they throw that at her.
I really liked the design and concept of the Alien, I liked how it was the embodiment of the perfect organism, it has the perfect defence mechanism. It has a brilliant design, it’s sleek, but also absolutely terrifying at the same time.
I loved how fast it grew, I thought when it shed its skin, it would’ve been a little bigger, but no it grew like 20 times bigger.
Ash being a robot all along was so surprising, but made so much sense, how he was so adamant about letting Kane back in, and why he wanted to keep it for testing, which was extremely dumb, I get it’s a new species and all, but like there’s a place and time for that.
