Interstellar
This is peak cinema at its finest, everything about this movie was so perfect.
I had very high expectations for this movie, but honestly, it was better than I ever could’ve imagined.
This movie made me cry so hard, Cooper leaving Murph (he lowkey didn’t care about his son, but that’s fine I guess), all the messages once he’s lost 23 years, and at the end when Murph dies, each time I was full blown sobbing.
One of my favourite things from this movie was how Cooper was Murph’s ghost, it’s so bittersweet, that he was there from the beginning, but Cooper wouldn’t listen to himself.
Some of the quotes from this movie were insane, like ‘Don’t let me leave Murph’ and ‘They didn’t bring us here to change the past.’ Even though he didn’t his past self to go, him and Murph ended up saving everyone, hence changing the future.
Tars was amazing, I loved him so much, every character was great to be honest, which made watching this movie so much more enjoyable, because even Mann was insanely interesting, as everyone had something to reveal within this movie.
I’ve seen something before about a clicking sound in the background of the wave scene equalling a day passing on Earth, it’s such a beautiful and stunning detail, really highlighting the care put into this movie.
I’m really confused about why Cooper didn’t ask about his son at the end? Maybe he knew he was already dead or something, but it just seemed kind of odd to not ask.
The acting in this movie was phenomenal, it made every scene what it was, when I was crying I found myself crying along with Cooper, because the acting was just so heartbreaking.
The 40 minutes at the start, which was character building, has to be some of my favourite character building a films ever done, it was so amazing and really explained what it needed to without making anything boring.
The pacing was spot on, everything was engaging and I didn’t lose interest once.
The score for this movie is one of the best I’ve ever heard, it fit the theme of the movie so well and completed all of the scenes nicely.
This is definitely a must watch for any cinephile!
