Crush
sad lesbian music is an integral part of my identity.
A Paige é toda atrapalhada, ansiosa e absurdamente identificável.
E a AJ?

🇺🇸: "Oh, but have you seen this movie these days, are you going to review it again? Yes!!!!!”
Well... I just rewatched crush and... it still caught me well. Maybe even more than the other times.
The first time I saw it, I got very emotional, not because I was sad, but because I was sweet, welcoming. It was one of the first times I saw a teenage lesbian love story that didn't revolve around pain or rejection. And now, reviewing, I realize how rare and valuable this is.
Paige is all clumsy, anxious and absurdly identifiable. The way she tries to understand herself, deal with crushes and insecurities seems so real.
And AJ? AJ is the kind of girl who fucks effortlessly, but with a depth that enchants. The chemistry between them is beautiful, natural, and seeing this love born, kind of clumsy, but sincere, was like seeing a little piece of myself there.
And the best? The lgbtqia+ part of the story is not treated as a problem or a shock.
It simply is. And this matters much more than people usually realize.
I swear how can two actresses hate each other and have made such a cute movie together? If it were me in their place, I would have already asked what we were!!
