Sinners
This movie is so thematically packed its insane
It all going wrong with having the white people trying to get in and having to invite the vampires into their space is definitely about cultural appropriation in how they then took over that space for themselves
The twins fighting each other with one being ‘evil’ and one being ‘good’ being the obvious fight between succumbing to sin and temptation vs abstaining from it
The father of samuel telling him he’ll be attracting evil by pursuing music and the fact that he still ended up pursuing it despite the fact that he did also sort of displays the fight between a righteous and non righteous lifeAnd how both those battles were in conflict with organized religion and could only be won when they shook away their shame
And im absolutely missing SO much
