Spirited Away

Magical surrealist wonderland that fully grabbed me and immersed me from the jump , even through all of my friends talking . So unique and creative . I adore it thematically . Some of the greatest world building I’ve ever seen . The sound is exceptional , wouldn’t change a thing about it . I might have to start listening to the sound track over and over .  Nothing I love more than when she is faced with another “ checkpoint decision “ of instant gratification vs taking the path less traveled by . Jumbo stuffed with some of the richest , and deeply layered metaphors . In particular everyone in both this , and real life always facing reoccurring crossroads of temptation / isolation / negativity as a whole from their own “ No Face “ … which is how I interpret that personally . But all in all this is so much more than just that . I need to see more Ghibli , but this is “ beyond cinema ” . I was on my hands and knees begging for her to hop on Haku at the end , and take her home . I fought off tears in the final 12 minutes , and I barely won . I’m not even the biggest anime fan either but god damn . One of the best stories ever told .
