A Clockwork Orange
This rewatch felt necessary and I’m really glad I did it. The second time around, it felt like a completely different film. I noticed things I hadn’t seen before like the way Kubrick builds tension so precisely, how cold and calculated everything feels. The soundtrack hit me even harder this time. That mix of beautiful classical pieces with violent, chaotic scenes is so unsettling, but also weirdly effective. The use of that goofy language that once felt confusing now pulled me in and made everything feel even more surreal. Hearing Alex calmly narrate all this madness just adds to the discomfort. It’s strange, bold, and still unlike anything else I’ve seen. Watching it again really helped me to appreciate the move even more.
