i don’t think i’ve ever seen a performance as intense and visceral as the one Isabelle Adjani gives in this movie, every time she entered the frame i could feel myself tensing up omgggg she truly gave her all to this film and it shows. this is a one of a kind breakup film that paints an increasingly complicated picture of a toxic couple and the struggle between independence and codependency and i was captivated start to finish! the neglect that the son was subjected to really stood out to me as children are an often overlooked yet vital aspect to parents’ divorces- and are truly powerless in these situations. this was truly brilliant.
