Look Back
“Then why do you draw, Fujino?”
Look Back features a lot of thoughts and questions in the mind of a passionate individual, artist or not. I really saw myself in Fujino, the way she was always praised for her work which gave her a lot of confidence in art until she met Kyomoto, who's miles better than her, or at least that's what she thinks.
I had a lot of pride in my work and my passion for writing that seeing someone better than me definitely breaks my heart. And when I started seeing more and more people who are better, I just lost interest in what I thought I've always wanted to do. I gave up on it, for about more or less than four years. But you know, growing up brought me back to my love for writing. Movies spoke to me like a breath of life and I saw past my pride, and suddenly there were a lot more to see in the world. I found what I write for, why I do it. Basically, it's like finding my voice and my hands just start moving on their own, typing stories endlessly. I write because I just love to do it.
Tatsuki Fujimoto shows us the rawness of what comes with a minor interest that gradually weaves into you. It's normal to be jealous and angry. It's normal to get carried away and be selfish. It just means that you truly care and whatever you're doing means something to you more than you think.
