Transformers One
Holy heartedly believe this is the best on screen adaptation of the transformers perioddddddd, legit only thing that comes close is Transformers Prime, but somehow they manage to add so much to the lore that already existed of transformers, after 40 years they have an viable explanation as to why Decepticons have that name and it’s a pretty good reasoning not only that but they also manage to make the audience actually sympathize for Megatron like I understand his reasoning and I’d be lying if I said I kinda ain’t on his side. The performances are shockingly good like I wouldn’t have expected this from an all celebrity cast, BTH as megatron is very much in my top 3 to play the character and hemsworth’s natural progression from the youthful Orion pax to the wise Optimus prime that kinda sounds like Peter Cullen was awesome to see, I’m also probably in the minority when I say I really wish they brought back Dylan O Brien as B-127, and everyone else was really good. The story itself is well done, they don’t make D-16’s turn into megatron this big plot twist Cooley acknowledges that we the audience already grasp the concept and how megatron obviously will turn evil instead they opt to make it heartbreaking at its core emphasizing the adorable and wholesome relationship between Orion and D-16 which then climaxes to the inevitable downfall over the deception Megatron felt at the hand of Sentinel Prime a guy whom he worshipped, not only that but homie watched his idol Megatronus get stabbed by him too. A funny and very dark detail is who they basically nazified megatronus’s face to become the decepticons symbol, insane reference to the nazis using the Hinduism symbol as its direct inspiration for the swaztika which is outrageously dark for a “kids movie” Overall fuck paramount I hope everyone on that marketing team gets fired and is unemployed for the rest of their lives, 9.75/10 watch this over shit like joker and everything else which whilst I liked it makes a mockery of the audience and their time!!!! Need to see the War for Cybertron and the Fall of Cybertron for the sequels. Also would like for bots like Wheeljack, Ironhide, Arcee and Jazz to become more prominent in the sequels.
