Serial Experiments Lain

Being called Serial Experiment Lain this anime was not so serial hah… This series was an absolutely incredible experience. For being quite a short series It compiles very heavy themes in great detail into only 13 episodes. The fact that these social themes are still very very prominent today proves that this show was soo very ahead of it’s time. The themes are very relatable today with it’s outlook on reality and also the internet to God and the human condition. This anime has very similar themes to Evangelion (personally I think they did it better) which I think makes me like it more. The editing was amazing especially for the early 90s and also why was it somewhat scary? This anime needs so much more recognition and can we talk about Duvet by Boá being the opening?!?! That was awesome. The animation of the characters did look a bit funky from some angles but overall an amazing anime with some amazing views. I just love watching media to not understand it but then watch an hour of a video essay about it to fully understand every little detail.
