Ju-on: The Grudge

Truly, this film remains one of the most exceptional horror films I've ever experienced. It's really disheartening to witness its unfairly low average rating. This movie is a contemporary horror masterpiece, and what captivates me the most is its unconventional storytelling. Among the chapters, my personal favourite has to be the Hitomi segment. It features the unforgettable elevator scene that never fails to make my heart drop every time you know who subtly appears on screen, coupled with the spine-tingling bed scene that managed to in-still fear even in the place I typically feel safest. Despite the constraints of a minimal budget, the scares in this film are nothing short of astounding. Amazing.  5/5.
