Anora
It’s been a few days since i logged this but i came back to edit the review because i cannot stop thinking about this film. Anora genuinely might be one of my fav films of the year Mikey Madison gives a fantastic performance for the character Ani/Anora with a fun and chaotic but heartbreaking story for her character.
The way Ani’s story is kind of a reverse Cinderella where we see her at the start living the fantasy she dreamed of with by the end losing it all hurts so much to see. The comedic timing of the entire cast is hilarious from the moments between Ani and Ivan up until they’re married to the goons for Ivan’s family and even some of the other workers at Ani’s job.
It might beat out Dune: Part Two for me on a second watch honestly just something about Ani as a character and especially the final scene i loved and just resonated with me a lot.
