TÁR
It's been a year since I've watched this for the first time and oh my god it's so much better than I remember.
Possibly one the deeper character study out there. From all the interviews, Todd and Cate seem to understand this character like she's a real person, and Lydia is so well written that you sometimes forget she isn't.
The lack of score throughout the film is something that still bothers me now when I think about it after I watch it (you would think that a film about maestro would have an amazing recognizable score) but while watching the film it never occurs to me that the score is very muted, most of the music we hear, is the music that's played by the orchestras.
I can see myself making this a type of holiday for me every year, I'm sure I'll never get tired of this super original and realistic take on a story. I haven't felt a love for a film like this in a while.
Still, I'm incredibly mad about the fact that Todd hasn't released the short film Fundraiser.
