MaXXXine
Not at all what I was expecting from this movie, but also that’s kind of the point, as I’ve never seen a film series with such consistent and coherent plots and themes, yet each film feeling so different conceptually and aesthetically. It couldn’t hold up to the incredibly high expectations set by X, but I did find it to be better than Pearl, both in concept and in execution. Overall, not perfect, but fun, messy, and a worthwhile ending to one of the most unique and wacky trilogies I’ve watched.
