Milo

i spent literally ages trying to find this movies but the result definitely wasn’t the best.  i didn’t know what this film would be about, but the really low production value styled 90s slasher was probably the thing i was expecting. i think milo definitely has a couple redeeming attributes. it has a unsettling atmosphere while the interactions generally being light hearted, this has decent characters and it’s evident it was made for hardcore horror fanatics. the problem is that this is just extremely slow paced, like the first half and even a couple scenes at the end feel very dragged out, the plot is also relatively nonsensical and it just leaves so many unanswered plot holes. i’m not a fan of the really cheap editing and the kills for most of the part are tame, except for the dick one.. the lightning is generally good but this just fails to catch the attention of the audience, it’s more just background noise with a low budget and subpar directing and acting..

The VHS cover (and possibly the trailer) had always intrigued me but I know I used to confuse this and Mikey (and The Paperboy?) but it's a completely different concept. This is way wackier and way duller than you would expect. The premise is certainly weird but it languishes a little too long in the soap opera-y filler that other 90s DTV does more charmingly. It gets creepy at points but it misses more than it hits. I'd put this squarely in the lazy afternoon watch category and you could do a lot worse.
